Set up the app

Tara on your phone

Tara.OS runs in the browser, and installs to your home screen from it. There's no app store download.

Adding Tara to your home screen gives you an icon, a full-screen window without browser chrome, and a faster path back in — which matters most for the people who use Tara in short bursts: volunteers checking a schedule, a pastor glancing at a figure before a meeting.

iPhone and iPad

  1. 1Open Tara in Safari and sign in
  2. 2Tap the Share button
  3. 3Choose "Add to Home Screen"
  4. 4Confirm the name and tap Add

Android

  1. 1Open Tara in Chrome and sign in
  2. 2Open the ⋮ menu
  3. 3Choose "Add to Home screen"
  4. 4Confirm and tap Add

Desktop

  1. 1Open Tara in Chrome or Edge
  2. 2Look for the install icon in the address bar
  3. 3Choose Install

A dedicated member app for giving, events, groups and serving is a separate, later part of the platform — it's labelled Coming Soon on the platform page. This page is about the web app you already have.
